About the Artist

Pianist Jeanette Tietze holds degrees in both piano and violin pedagogy from the Hochschule fur Musik, Vienna, and an MM degree in Piano Performance from SF State University, where she studied with Carlo Bussoti. At SFSU she was also awarded a scholarship and studied piano trio repertoire with William Corbett-Jones. Her teachers in Vienna included Oleg Maisenberg and Leonid Brumberg, former assistant to Heinrich Neuhaus. She also studied with John McCarthy here in San Francisco.

Jeanette holds a Kodaly certificate from Holy Names University and teaches at several schools in the Bay Area. She is Organist/Music Director at Holy Innocents Episcopal Church in Corte Madera, and accompanist for the Dominican Chorale, the Vivo Choir of the Young Women’s Choral Project, and Marin Catholic High School Choir. She maintains a private piano studio in Marin.

Jeanette and her husband Chris will be celebrating 25 years of marriage this fall, which they plan to celebrate by visiting their three children who happen to all be studying music at Loyola in New Orleans. They have also recently returned this summer from a second trip to walk the Caminho Portuguese to Santiago da Compastella in Spain. And, loving it!
